Message from Archipel OHT Executive Committee

Dear partners,

The Executive Committee of the Archipel Ontario Health Team (OHT) is delighted to announce the appointment of Marc-André Sabourin as director. He will take up his role on May 9. He succeeds to Élizabeth Tanguay, who has held the position since 2021.

Originally from Hammond, in Eastern Ontario, Marc-André brings 19 years of experience in healthcare, including seven years as a clinical manager at Hôpital Montfort, where he supervised multidisciplinary teams of up to 120 employees. A member of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, he completed a Physiotherapy Assistant Certificate at La Cité College and a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in physical activity at the University of Ottawa.

Marc-André began his career in 2006 as a physiotherapy assistant at the Ray Friel Medical Centre in Orléans and then worked as a wheelchair technician and collection clerk at Bruyère Health, as a rehabilitation assistant at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital and as a therapeutic services assistant at Montfort.

He obtained a kinesiologist position at Montfort in 2012 and was promoted to clinical manager of ambulatory care in 2018, then to clinical manager of the resource team, staffing and patient flow in 2022. In 2020, he acted as manager of the COVID-19 Care Clinic of East Ottawa.

In 2023, Marc-André was awarded the Naos Prize for leadership at Montfort. He distinguished himself through his participation in the transformation of clinical services and within several strategic and regional committees, as well as through his extensive work with several partners, particularly in the context of the opening of the Aline-Chrétien Health Hub in Orléans.

Marc-André was unanimously chosen by the selection committee, which was made up of Archipel's co-chairs Sylvie Lefebvre and Martine Whissel; Pierre Benoît, client partner; Dominic Giroux, President and CEO of Montfort; and Danielle Levac, Director of Talent Acquisition at Montfort.

We sincerely thank the 40+ individuals who submitted applications and those who took part in this highly competitive selection process.

We are very pleased that Marc-André has agreed to contribute his skills and experience to further our mission. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Élizabeth Tanguay for her leadership and are pleased that she will continue to be part of the Archipel OHT in her new role leading one of our member partners, Montfort Renaissance. We would also like to thank Marie-Lou Meawasige, who is providing steady and thoughtful interim leadership during this transition period as Interim Director. We express our deep appreciation to the Transformation Office team for their sustained commitment, flexibility, and support to partners during this period of change — a collective effort that reflects the strength of our network.
